Description
This is a Swedish bayonet pendant that I had cast in two parts using the lost wax method. I was lucky enough to be in a high school that had jewelry making in its advanced sculpture and pottery class. I did this my senior year in 1991. The blade is cast in sterling silver and the handle is cast in brass and both were silver soldered together. This was not carved, I molded it by hand out of bees wax and used heat and other tools to aid in the details. It is not an exact replica. A chain or cord can be put through the hole on the hilt (rifle muzzle hole). I did not plan it, but this very well balanced when hung as a pendant.
I was not allowed to wear this at school for fear I might stab someone with the blunt inch and a half blade, HAHAHA!!!!! I guess the teachers never guessed that a shapened pencil or two is far more deadly!!!!!
